Safeguarding

Keeping everyone safe is important, and to help us keep people safe all the churches in the benefice have adopted the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy and adhere to Safeguarding rules laid down by the Church of England.  Each church has a designated Safeguarding Officer, who is responsible for Safeguarding in their parish.  Our Safeguarding Officers contact details are available under the 'Safeguarding Contacts' tab, which you can find on the left hand side of this page.

For more information on Church Parish Safeguarding practices please refer to the 'National Parish Safeguarding Handbook 2018', to download a copy please click here.

REPORTING A SAFEGUARDING CONCERN

Protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of us all, whether they are in the communities in which we live or part of our Christian family.  If you have a concern about a child, young person or adult who may be at risk of harm please speak to your Parish Safeguarding Officer.

If you have concerns about a member of the clergy or an employee of the church please contact the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser Lisa Marriott by telephone on 01332 388678 or via email at lisa.marriott@derby.anglican.org or contact one of the Archdeacons.  You can also report any concerns to the Police or Social Care.  The important thing is that your concerns are shared with someone in a position to help.

If you would like more information about the Diocesan Safeguarding Policy and how to report a concern please visit the Derby Diocesan website.
